The drawers have temperature controls that allow you to set them to Meat, Beverage or Deli settings. They're easy to open and close, although I found their plastic textured coatings a bit hard on the fingers.
The GE PGE29BYTFS Smart Refrigerator is equipped with a all the features you'd expect from a fridge in this price range, including Wi-Fi and app support through GE's SmartHQ software. It would be nice if GE PYE22PYNFS had Precise Fill which is an option that is available in a few other GE refrigerators that allows you to set the number of cups of water you'd like to pour out at once. The fridge displays a countdown timer to show you how much water is left but it's not as effective as Precise Fill.
Bosch Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator
The Bosch French-door Refrigerator is a striking piece. It's designed to appear like a seamless piece in your kitchen. The fridge uses fingerprint-resistant stainless steel, which is a great feature for busy households. It also has a veggie compartment that keeps vegetables and fruits fresher for longer, and two compressors for preserving food. The Ice maker we tested is one of the most efficient and produces the shape of a pyramid using only water. This refrigerator is ideal for a single household or kitchenette that needs a built-in appearance and top-of-the highest quality food preservation.
This fridge was rated the top in our Refrigerators Test due to a variety of reasons. The temperature of the freezer remained stable at a level that was just above 0 degrees Fahrenheit and never moving by more than a fraction a degree--this is key to avoiding freezer burn. The fridge section of the refrigerator also did well. It reached the initial temperature within a matter of hours, and remained at the temperature throughout our tests.
Bosch is known for its high-end appliances. Therefore, it's not a surprise that the Bosch counter depth fridge can be connected to your home Wi Fi and Bosch's Home Connect. This Frigidaire French door refrigerator is a great choice when you're looking for a French door refrigerator that doesn't cost a lot of budget. It's a basic refrigerator that may not be as appealing as some of its competitors however, it does have enough features to make it a good choice. Its most significant feature, the adjustable temperature drawer, helps to keep food items like meat and vegetables fresher for longer. It also comes with a large ice maker and a water dispenser.
The "Chill Drawer", which is located over the two crisper bins, is another excellent feature. This drawer lets you use some of your fridge's cooling power into this area so that you can keep food items that require extra attention. You can alter this feature by using a slider that's located right on the outside of the drawer. It is also possible to use this to set a general cooling setting for the entire fridge, though I've found that adjusting the general settings tends to be more effective than specific ones.
In my tests, I found that the temperatures of the refrigerator were fairly consistent in various parts of the refrigerator. Temperatures in the top and bottom of the fridge didn't vary very far from 38 degrees, and even the middle of the fridge was within one degree of 36. This is a solid performance, but it doesn't quite make it to the top of our rankings.
This fridge has a few other neat features, including a temperature-monitoring display that alerts you to fluctuations and provides a forecast for the day ahead. This fridge can be connected with a smart thermostat to gain more precise information on the internal temperature of your fridge.
